I offer a range of guitar teaching services for students skill levels from beginner to advanced guitarist and any style of guitar playing. I also provide music production, audio mixing and mastering services.
I am based in Queensland, Australia. I was born in Canberra and moved to Brisbane early 2003 after coming up here for a holiday with relatives and decided to stay.
I have been playing and teaching guitar for over 30 years and have been teaching guitar professionally for 25 plus years. I first started teaching guitar as far back as 1995 / 96 in Canberra along with Math's tutoring. Guitar playing has been central to my being for a very long time and I hope for a long time to come as well :) Playing guitar is one of life's joys that no one should miss out on.
In the past few years or so I have has been designing and building my own line of guitar special effects pedals ranging from guitar compressor / limiters to clean boost pedals and various other designs like distortion and overdrive pedals. Ive had to put BMC Guitar Effects on hiatus due to work/life commitments but will be back as soon as humanly possible.
In 2010 I released a collection of instrumental MP3's I've recorded over the last 10 or so years in my spare time as a compilation called Guitar Madness. You can download or stream a copy from bandcamp.com
There you will find band photos, music and videos and keep up with what we are doing.
The band is a three piece instrumental progressive fusion metal band that has been together since early 2009. Below are the two albums we have released (one under a different band name) for you to listen too. We are working on our third release (which is currently unavailable as we are still working on video clips for the tracks for some YouTube content). It should be ready for release by the middle of 2019.

Hello and welcome! My name is Brendan McLaughlin and I provide professional in-home lessons for all age groups, skill levels, and styles; from absolute beginner to seasoned, advanced guitarists. I specialise in teaching people with special needs and have worked with many students with Autism, Aspergers as well students who are vision or physically impaired.
All guitar lessons are customised and paced to suit the students' needs with all materials required provided as you go and include free support during the week if you need any help or have any questions that need answering.
I am able to provide face to face in-home lessons in areas including: Wellington Point, Birkdale, Alexandra Hills, Capalaba, Ormiston, Cleveland, Wynnum, Manly, Tingalpa, Thornlands, Victoria Point and Redland Bay right through to Norman Park, East Brisbane to Coorparoo, Mt Gravatt to Greenslopes, Carina, Carindale, Mansfield and other areas in eastern suburbs, Bayside and South Brisbane.

WEEKLY LESSONS $35 per half hour weekly lessons $60 per full hour lesson
FORTNIGHTLY LESSONS $50 per half hour/fortnightly lesson $70 per full hour lesson/fortnightly lesson
CASUAL or ONCE OFF LESSONS $60 half hour $70 for a full hour

For online lessons, please click the appropriate method below. If you are using ZOOM, please ask me for the password before attempting connection for your lesson. You will need the password to enter the ZOOM waiting room. If the Zoom room does not answer, it means the I have not started the ZOOM session yet. We will co-ordinate on the day.

Here is a list of some suggested viewing for all my students (and parents too!), especially if you like devling into what goes on behind the scenes of some of the biggest rock acts in history. Alot of these documentaries can be found on YouTube or places like Tubi and PLEX streaming. Eventually Prime and Netflix will catch on.
Rammstein - Behind The Scenes World Stadium Tour 2019 to 2024
Rammstein and their massive juggernaut stage show is the biggest stage show in rock history, you'll never see anything like it. The massive logistics behind this band is incredible and it makes you wonder how they make any money given the undertaking and staffing of such as massive operation like this! Their team is impressive.
This is available on YouTube and its mostly in German with Sub titles but there is also English speakers as well. The biggest issue with modern videos is the sub titles, they move WAAAAY to fast!

As The Palaces Burn - Lamb Of God Documentary
Interesting documentary of Lamb Of God before the arrest of Randy Blythe (mid tour!) on a charge of an accidental manslaughter at a previous show they played. Highly recommended viewing!
Metallica - Some Kind Of Monster
A very dark time in the history of THE biggest metal band in history; THE band to bring heavy metal to the mainstream.
The BIG FOUR - Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer!
Four of histories heaviest bands in one concert. This is a must watch, the behind the scenes is brilliant!
The Other F Word
A fantastic documentary on no rules punk rock and being a father! Punk rockers becoming parents and how it affected them and their lives. Variety Magazine called it "consistently hilarious! Raucous, eye-opening and unexpectedly wise." Another highly recommend docco; You can view it on PLEX.
