Guitar lesson terms and conditions, pricing and cancellation policy

Upon accepting bookings for guitar lessons, you are agreeing to ALL the terms and conditions set out below, whether you read these terms or not.  These conditions are subject to change without notice so check back.

  • 1) All guitar lessons are to be paid for on completion of the guitar lesson either by cash or bank transfer.  Contact Brendan directly for Bank Transfer payment details.

    • BANK TRANSFER PAYMENTS FOR LESSONS - Please ensure that payments are made prior to the booked lesson time or by the close of business Wednesday the following week of the lesson;

  • 2) All guitar lessons payments are final and are NON-REFUNDABLE.
  • 3) For CANCELLATIONS made within 24 hours of the lesson; you will be required to pay the full booked lessons rate for that cancellation and book a MAKEUP LESSON at an alternative time
    • Cancelled lessons must be paid for BEFORE a makup lessons is offered.
    • Please note that if you are offered a makeup lesson and take it up and then cancel; you are required to pay for that lesson or organise another time for said lesson in the future
    • Make-up lessons can be arranged instead or move the lesson to another scheduled time during the week if a timeslot opens up
    • Make-up lessons can performed ONLINE via ZOOM, Skype, WhatsApp or Telegram if necessary
    • If you're sick or cannot make the lesson for health reasons, the cancellation policy still stands if you do not take a makeup lesson.
    • Cancellations for lessons during peak times include consecutive cancellations & no shows
  • 4) You are renting a time-slot for a guitar lesson from me and that time-slot MUST BE PAID FOR DURING EXTENDED PERIODS AWAY!
    • Peak time slots are times between 2pm and 9pm Monday to Friday and all day Saturday.
    • Due to high demand, I cannot hold vacant and unpaid peak time slots for you!
      • This now also includes Saturday timeslots.
    • If you want to keep your booked time-slot, students wishing to take TWO OR MORE in a row off for what ever reason will be required to pay for all the time-slots you have booked.
    • I am flexible with arragements during periods over the two weeks during Christmas/New Year but any other times outside of that, these terms regarding peak time-slot bookings are NOT NEGOTIABLE!
    • To hold a time-slot, the full and current standard 1/2 hour lesson rate is to be paid, in advance!
    • HIGH DEMAND PEAK TIMESLOTS
      • are any guitar lesson times between 3pm and 8.30pm MONDAY TO FRIDAY.
      • HIGH DEMAND PEAK TIMESLOTS are subject to change WITHOUT NOTICE and are at my discretion.
  • 4a) What happens if you do not pay to hold your time-slot booking?
    • If you do not, the time-slot will be opened up immediately to other current students and other prospective student waiting on the wait list and you may lose your lesson time-slot.
    • School holiday lessons can be re-arranged to another time during the school holidays without losing your booked time but will not be held unless YOU make the arrangements with me to hold the time-slots in exchange for making up the times at a later date or paying for the timeslot.
  • 5) The holiday/time off pricing policy only applies to timeslot reservations of two or more weeks in a row.
  • 6) Guitar lessons by video correspondence are pre-paid video responses.

Payments for online guitar lessons
via Whatsapp or other medium

  • 7) All online guitar lessons are to be pre-paid before the lesson occurs
    • If you cannot make your pre-paid online lesson, you can reschedule for a later date if necessary to makeup the lesson

Prepaid lessons and Gift Certificate lessons

  • 8) PRE-PAID Guitar lessons and PRE-PAID Gift Certificate lessons
    • If you pre-pay your guitar lessons, this pre-payment covers the booked scheduled time and is NON-REFUNDABLE if you cancel or do not attend your lesson. You can make up this lesson at another time but if you don't, the lesson fee for that time will not be refunded or moved
    • Please ensure that any payments outstanding are paid prior to starting your lessons. Lessons, including pre-paid voucher and gift certificate lessons will not start until the payment is made in full.
    • All gift certificates are valid from the date of issue and are only valid for NINE months after issue
      • Please ensure that you book your lessons in before the NINE months are up
      • Note that YOU are responsible to in touch with Brendan to organise the guitar lessons and claiming you gift voucher.
    • Gift Certificates are not redeemable for cash or any other service.
    • Any Gift Certificate handed out prior to payment are only valid once payment is received. The voucher and guitar lessons its for will not be valid until such time as the payment for certificate is received by me.

Guitar lesson information

  • You will be required to purchase your own guitar and guitar tuner. Have it with you for each lesson
  • All guitar music and other resources will be provided as required
  • All lessons include free support during the week if you need any help or have any questions that need answering.
  • For correspondence lessons, the student is required to supply a video response demonstrating their current performance and any questions they would like answered within the following video response.
  • Video correspondence lessons are casual response lessons and you only need to supply a video update of your performance at your leisure.

Guitar Hire

  • If you would like to lease a guitar, I can provide you with an instrument to learn on for an extra $10 on top of the existing guitar lesson fee and agree to the following terms:
    • By using one of my guitars, you agree to take good care of the instrument and agree to pay for any damages to the instrument while it is in your possession.
    • You agree to pay for any replacement guitar strings or maintenance while the guitar is your possession.
    • You agree to return the guitar in the same working order it was given to you.
    • If the guitar is damaged, you will be required to pay for a replacement guitar for up to $350
  • Hiring equipment; you are required to pay a $150 deposit that will be returned to you upon returning the guitar or bass.
